Hollywood Comes to Lenoir
We’re rolling out the red carpet to celebrate the premiere of Tim and Jan’s “Southern Fresh” television show at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir! Open to the public, the black tie optional event will include:

• An advanced viewing of the first episode of “Southern Fresh”
• A personal book signing with discounted book prices
• Wine & Hors d’oeurves prepared by the JEBCC Catering Group & Culinary students
• CCC&TI Gardemanger student competition food display

In the spirit of giving, the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center is sponsoring a canned food drive to assist area programs. Guests may bring donations to place under The Community Christmas Tree. Donations will be accepted Dec. 5th through 22nd.
The “Southern Fresh” Show stars local chef Tim Haas and master gardener Jan Kirby and is shot entirely on location in North Carolina. The program introduces viewers to locally grown, garden-fresh ingredients and shows them how to take the items from the garden to the kitchen. The series is an extension of Haas and Kirby’s garden-to-kitchen brand as seen through “At Home in the Carolinas” on Fox Charlotte and in their new book “Herb Garden Gourmet” published by Source Books. Thirteen episodes of “Southern Fresh” are being produced by Homerun Entertainment and will be broadcast nationally beginning early 2010.
Be sure to join the celebration and meet Tim and Jan! All proceeds from the premiere will be donated to the culinary program at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.
